The New Xbox Experience, or as I refer to it, the new 360 Dashboard is obviously out. If you’ve got an Xbox 360 that’s connected to the internet, you have to update your console as soon as you turn it on, sorry folks you can’t bypass it and there are NO exceptions. So get used to this new experience because this is what your machine will look like until it dies, you die, or Microsoft decides to make ANOTHER Xbox Experience.

A bunch of the guys in the office have some interesting opinions on the whole thing and here are a few of our observations along with others from bloggers on the net:

1) The download is really fast. Owners with hard drives that aren’t 100% full will be able to update with no problem, but Xbox 360 Arcade fans that rely on memory cards can get in on the free 512MB card deal from Microsoft. I’d say your best bet is to go with the 20GB hard drive for $20 if anything. The update won’t be as fast as the 10-second patches you’re used to for standard Xbox Dashboard upgrades, but clocking in at somewhere between five to ten minutes, it’s still faster than standard PS3 firmware refreshes. And this changes the entire UI.

2) The avatars are cool but need serious work. We think that the work isn’t necessary in the sense that you’ve still got the option of using your old gamerpics to represent your gamertag to the rest of Xbox Live, but everyone can create a Nintendo Mii-like avatar. Because there are only a few clothing options and customizability selections which are all kinda cheesy so essentially your Mii will only kinda look like you. But for the most part we like them.

3) Performance is better everywhere.  The new Dashboard lift restrictions about how many resources it can use, thus giving you a much speedier and more fluid browsing experience. For example, your Xbox Live Arcade game list loads instantly, instead of one at a time in the order you downloaded them. Other time savers are the ability to bring up the Xbox guide from wherever you are and jump into another game, bypassing the need to reroute from back in the Dashboard. That’s pretty sweet to those of us who know what I’m talking about!

4) It’s organized better. By putting in a game and going to its info screen, you can look at its achievements, all its possible downloads and access game details like whether or not it supports 1080p and co-op. In fact, you can do this for all the games which gives you an easy way to browse around and learn what games you might see on WorldGaming.

5) Blades are still there if you want them. Even though you might be ”stuck” with the new interface in the actual Dashboard, you can hit the Xbox guide button on your controller and hop around the console that way. There really isn’t a reason to not like the new interface, but if you’re one of those psychos that hates things because they’re new (well then you’re probably not reading this blog or on WorldGaming), then you’ve got an option.

So those are 5 early observations, tomorrow I’ll have 5 more. Odds are you’ll probably disagree with soem of the things we’re saying here so shoot me back some messages and let me know what you think.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand…vote on the web poll and let us know your thoughts!!!

someone try this for me!!!

For all you dopers out there who’d like to experience the effects of drugs without actually taking any drugs, here’s a little experiment that you have to try.

These things called Ganzfeld hallucinations are available to you without any shady alleyway dealing and all you need is a pair of headphones and a ping pong ball cut in half.

You simply place the ping pong ball halves over your eyes, so you only see diffuse white light, then listen to white noise through the headphones.

Great…so what the hell happens next? Just read five of these customer testimonials.

Now thats some trippy shit! So I call out to you fellow WorldGamers…someone PLEASE try this out and let’s know how it works. Come on, I know that aside from playing video games a lot of you don’t have anything better to do right now.

Do this for science. Do this for me. Do this for yourself.

it’s not Friday but…

Posted in: Girls, No Comments »

girls

I haven’t posted anything of her in a while so I give you this because I love the WorldGamers and because I got a message asking me to post any pictures I had of her so I didn’t really need much more of an incentive.

This is just about as good as it gets…my girl struttin her stuff at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show from this past weekend.

She pretty much comes close to being the perfect woman. Her face is flawless, her body is unreal and she’s built everywhere else…what else could you ask for?

Aside from my girlfriend…nothing!

Click on the link below for more pictures and enjoy!!!!!!

this dog lived!!!

Posted in: Entertainment, No Comments »

I thought I understood physics, but after reading this I’m not too sure because according to Ananova:

“A miracle pup clung to a speeding car for more than 15 miles after being knocked down. The motorist, Marco Menozzi, didn’t even stop when he mowed down the one-year-old pooch while doing 70mph on a side road in Cozze, southern Italy. But he hit the dog so hard he was embedded in the grill under the bonnet of the Peugeot 207 and managed to cling on until the car eventually stopped.”

I’m just curious what the hell you do when you stop for gas and notice a dog is living inside the grill of your French sports car. This is like some horror movie shit where you think you kill something and then you turn around and there it is, staring at you.

Only, in this movie, everyone is rooting for the dog because they’re pretty sure you’re a douchebag because you drive a Peugeot 207 and have no regard for animals!

Halo like battle uniforms

Posted in: Lifestyle, No Comments »

lifestyle

It’s not hard to see that the Republic of Korea is obviously attempting to seduce impressionable teenage gamers into their armed forces by begining to develope a badass science fiction battle uniform that would be due out early next year.

Not only is this thing totally awesome, but the uniforms will feature a number of other technical enhancements, including a multifunction helmet with video transmitter, GPS display and voice recognition, a backpack with command / control and friendly-or-foe identification systems, a BDU that offers protection from nuclear, biological and chemical attacks, and the laser-guided, multi-function XK11 assault rifle, which shoots both standard NATO 5.56mm rounds and 20mm grenades.

I’m just curious…did the future just get way cooler, or way scarier?

Or both?

I’m not quite sure but you can check out the gun below in the vid…enjoy!

I wanna give a big shout of to my boy Cynicus who is about to blow up the rap game. Cynicus teams up with Mick Boogie on his mixtape entitled The 10th Wonder Mixtape. It’s real Street-Hop and all the beats were done by 9th Wonder and they’re all unreleast beats. Cynius is real hip-hop but I brings that street-hop element to it. He reached to Mick Boogie cause they’re both from the Cleveland area and Boogie happily helped him on his 1st mixtape.

Cynicus says that “with all this bullshit in the game at this moment, I wanted my 1st time impression to be straight hip-hop/street-hop. Thats what I grew up on and influenced by… Im here to display real skills, talent and real hard work.”

He’s from Lorain, Ohio which is 30 minutes west of Cleveland. But in Cleveland is where he do his shows, networking and work. He’s been doing the rap thing since 03′ but has been in the hip-hop culture since he can remember and even put it like this to describe it, “Shell Toe Adidas, Beat Street and a Michael Jackson Jacket.”
He dropped his debut in 2005 and that got him in the game for people to take him serious. Three years later, he’s got his own pro tools studio and a series of mixtapes ready to unload. He just completed his second Mixtape entitled Out On Bail cause he’s really out on bail!! He got Big Mike hosting that and thats gonna be a trilogy. Crazy thing is, that OOB hasn’t even dropped yet and he’s already got an untitled mixtape done. So now he’s already working on OOB2 and halfway done.
Plus he’s about to leak the track he did with Max-B. and the other one he did with 40 Cal. Impressive shit…click the link below to check out the tracklist and download the mixtape for free.

the gov is following you!

Posted in: Lifestyle, No Comments »

lifestyle

If you think the Federal Government only uses high tech stuff to follow people in the movies, get out from under that rock you’re living under because the ‘gov has been using the cell-tracking ‘Triggerfish’ gadget for years now, and have been very successful doing so. Reason being: it’s an effective, invasive piece of hardware posing as a cell tower.

As a result, Triggerfish is able to quickly gather valuable identifying info from phones. In the case of phone taps, it was thought to have been deployed only with the phone company’s approval, and after law enforcement officials had found probable cause to monitor someone. That supposed caveat was a minor comfort to privacy hounds, but as it often goes, that was slightly optimistic.

In response to a Freedom of Information Act request by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Electronic Frontiers Foundation, the Justice Department has sent back evidence that law enforcement officials can use Triggerfish pretty much whenever they want, and without consulting the phone companies.

The justification looks like what I would call a GIANT LOOPHOLE: secret Triggerfish deployment is OK because it only provides its users with rough location data by pairing serial numbers, phone numbers and other identifiers to a particular tower, rather than the actual content of conversations. The moral problems here are multifaceted, but the practical ones for, you know, fugitives, are easily solved: turn off your phone!!!!!!!

That’s what I do…hook the cons up…you’re welcome!

You’ve probably already heard about it by now, but China’s been dealing with a massive tainted milk problem. Now that hundreds of tons of milk products have been recalled, precincts are scrambling to figure out what to do with the resulting trash. One city in Southern China has decided that one great way to get rid of all that melamine-laden fluid is to bake them into bricks and cement.

Naturally.

Wang Fan, director of the Guangzhou food safety office, told reporters that the milk burned in a kiln produces a residue that can be used to manufacture building blocks. By disposing of it this way, the government can ensure that it doesn’t get poured into rivers (which would contaminate fish) or dumped into landfills (possibly contaminating ground water). The cost is way lower too, about 700 yuan per ton for brick making rather than 1800 yuan per ton for hazardous waste treatment.

The moral to this story: When life gives you tainted milk, make bricks. Well, hopefully that and completely overhaul your food and drug safety system to better regulate a market that’s exploded in size in the last twenty years…I’m just saying.
