If you don’t know David Choe, your about to because he’s got crazy skills. Choe is the latest artist to partner up with Upper Playground to produce two Barack Obama prints. Choe is mad talented and has designed and produced apparel, adidas sneakers, comic books, movie posters, album covers, fine art books and toys. His life is being chronicled in a documentary film entitled Dirty Hands.
His Obama posters are part of an ongoing series from a collaboration of artists who support Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. For the record (in case anybody is curious) I support Obama as well.
There were 200 prints made that are signed and numbered for each design, and each one is going for $200. Naturally, the limited-edition 18″X24″ print is available exclusively online so you can click HERE and HERE to get yours. I opted for the one above. I don’t pretend to know a lot about art but I loved it. It comes across as so powerful yet hip and modern which I can obviously relate to. I just wish I didn’t have to wait to get mine because prints won’t be shipped out until October 15th…I can’t wait.
I think it’s also really cool that all proceeds from the sales of the posters will go directly to creating more campaign t-shirts, posters, and stickers by other artists in support of Obama’s bid for President. So if you have some extra money, I say you buy this art and contribute to more being created.
