Some 36 year old German nutjob named Dirk Auer who only had retrofitted inline skates (that were specifically designed for the stunt) and a helmet topped out at 56mph while going down a 2,8000 foot (860 metre) rollercoaster.

How damn insane is that?!?!?

It took him 110 hours to prepare the whole thing, but the ride was over in one minute. This guy might not be the most efficient person with his time but what he did is pretty cool no matter the time put in. Keep in mind that this is the same guy who holds the world’s inline skating speed record…for being dragged by a Porsche GT2!!

This story would have been so much better if this crazy Dick (and yes there was a pun intended) hadn’t put a copyright claim on his youtube video and deprived us all of seeing just how nuts the whole thing was. Anyways, I’m sure it will come out eventually and when it does I’ll be sure to post it for you!

The appropriately titled Cadillac World Thorium Fuel or “WTF” has features you are not going to find anywhere else. It runs on clean Thorium nuclear fuel and offers maintenance-free service for 100 years or more. Good think cause Joe at the local Jiffy Lube wouldn’t have the first clue where to start.

Not only that, each wheel is actually six individually powered wheels aligned side by side, which is just insane. Unfortunately, this car is only a concept by designer Loren Kulesus, but if you can hang around until the year 6536 or so, you just might be able to pick one up. In the meantime, these pictures will have to do.

Riding the new Peak2Peak Gondola that connects Whistler’s Blackcomb and Whistler Mountain summits, over 2.7 miles, must be exhilarating. But jumping off it is just insane.

Shortly after opening, these Two Red Bull sponsored lunatics rode a car to the mid point of the ride and jumped. That makes for a good preview of the fall, should one of these boxes full of 28 people ever fall out of the sky.

The Gondola itself holds records for its unsupported span of 1.88 miles between the two furthest towers, and for its rise, measuring over a quarter mile above the ground at its highest point.

At 16 miles per hour, it makes the traverse between the mountain tops, in 11 minutes. Contrast that with the usual ski down one peak, plus a drive to the base of the other (should you choose not to jump off it), plus a number of gondola, chair and tow rides upward, which easily could take over an hour or three.

For the record, this is my next winter vacation!
