WaFor anyone that’s curious as to whats inside of the update you’re gonna download today on your Xbox, Microsoft has given us the official list of everything that’s new!!!! Honestly, I’m usually not too excited about updates and really only care about playing but this update is going to be awesome!

Here’s what I’m betting everyone will like:

• Account recovery is faster. I play at my friends houses a lot so this is great because the way it is now takes damn near forever.
• Party invites are less shoppy
• You actually get notifications when your subscription’s about to expire and not left to try and log in only to be left confused
• Achievement browser’s better, and you can launch games from it (SUPER pumped about this one!)
• Active Downloads and other screens like that are actually easy to get to
• Under My Xbox, there’s a handy troubleshooting section called Solutions that brings together all of the info that was scattered throughout the UI (scary you need this though, I mean, we’re talking about a game console, right?)
• And while it’s not as good as having more than 100 friends, you can sort your friends list in different ways

Props to the people at Xbox for what looks things that will add up to a nicer user experience. I get frustrated a lot with the 360 so this should cut down on that. that frustrates you less often. Plus, everyone knows about all that other stuff that’s out there.

Enjoy and after you check it out get on www.worldgaming.com so you can start making money playing video games in head-to-head competitions and online video game tournaments that you can win real cash and prizes in!!

facebook-twitter

I don’t use Facebook, I’m not that cool of a guy. But I do Twitter at the demand of Levy so he can always know what I’m doing, as if we don’t spend enough time together all day at work then go home to where we live in the same building. So for me and my tweets and for you and all your social networking junkies who NEED TO and HAVE TO use Facebook or Twitter on every screen possible to dumb your life and mind down…Microsoft announced today at E3 that Facebook and Twitter integration will be arriving on Xbox Live this fall.

I can just see all the Facebook hypes now rejoicing and with good reason, this actually looks really cool.

It appears that Facebook will look fairly similar to the typical Xbox Experience interface, with individual sidescrolling windows. It’ll also support Facebook Connect, which will let you upload in-game screenshots to your Facebook profile in real-time.

The reason why I’m the last person in the world not to have a Facebook account is because I have a lot of friends that I keep in touch with and only need a phone or skype to do it. The way I look at it is, if we’re not friends anymore from back in the day, there’s probably a reason for that. I have no desire to know what some dude from my freshman year math class is doing with his life, so I don’t have an account.

Plus, I don’t want all my love slaves stalking me!

But if I can put up in-game screenshots of me dominating bums for money on http://www.worldgaming.com/  in head-to-head competitions for cash and Xbox 360 and PS3 online tournaments for money then I’ll gladly make an account.

Project Natal

We’re headed to LA tomorrow for E3 and can’t wait to get there. E3 started today and it’s amazing to see all the cool stuff coming out and being talked about, and this is about as cool as it gets. I have no idea how they did it but the good folks at GameTrailers somehow have the actual video Microsoft played on the big screen at its E3 conference earlier today.

Microsoft got things rocking when it revealed its newest control scheme today: a full-body motion control that doesn’t require a controller of any kind. They shall call it… Project Natal.

You have to check this out, it looks so damn cool but it’s more than just for playing games with because you can also move through menus by swiping your hands back and forth. The camera in it gives high tech features like facial and voice recognition so that when you have it running, your Xbox will recognize your face and sign you in automatically.

There’s no end to the possibilities of how cool this can really be!!

The new book The Race For a New Game Machine, by two IBM engineers, details how ridiculous the design process was when IBM was making Sony’s PS3 cell chip. Microsoft basically got a free ride.

The Wall Street Journal pulls out facts like IBM employees trying to hide their work from people from companies in cubicles next to them, helping one team out (the Microsoft team) with their design process based on knowledge they had already gained from the Sony side, and most importantly, that Microsoft received the chip from manufacturing BEFORE Sony did because they ordered “backup manufacturing capacity from a third party.”

Pretty crazy, read the whole article and get the book. I’m going to buy it sometime this week and start reading it so I’ll let you know what it’s all about as I get furthur into it!!!

360 does it!!!!!!

Big ups to Microsoft because without them, I have no idea what I’d be doing in life. Reason being, Microsoft has just announced that sales of the Xbox 360 have outraced total sales of the original Xbox, only two days after the 360’s third birthday on November 22.

I’m getting a little misty eyed? Sure, the good folks in Redmond could have stopped believing, or reaching for that rainbow but it looks like all the hard work has paid off. Microsoft has won a race with itself, and in doing so has given us all hope.

To put this in perspective, a total of 25 million original Xboxes were sold during its lifecycle of November 2001 – May, 2005 (roughly three and a half years). The company has yet to release precise sales figures for the 360, but between price cuts in Europe, Black Friday, and the New Xbox Experience, they expect to ride out the tail end of this year with a huge sales boost.

Great job, guys! We knew that some day your company would be a success. And we thank you for essentially giving us WorldGaming!
