the Nintendo Air Max

Well they aren’t exactly what I pictured, but there’s no denying that Nintendo and Nike’s NES Air Max kicks do bring back thoughts of the dull and boring old school Nintendo Entertainment System.

Featuring two tones of gray and a reddish/orange stripe, only the hardcore sneaker heads will notice the subtle reference to the Start button. But I say that anyone who doesn’t get it isn;t really worth me talking to anyways since we’re pretty big Nike freaks around the office.

They’re out now so go grab a pair if you’re lucky because collectors go nuts for these types of shoes!!

OCD nerds hit a point in their existance when they realize they need to get a hold of their life. Or more realistically, they meet that special someone who refuses to cohabitate with someone who dedicates an entire room to 20-year-old video games.

That’s when he decides to unload his treasure and we see an epic eBay auction the likes of which we don’t see everyday. Bless that girl whoever she is!!!

This auction has every single grey cartridge released for the old school NES as well as a few that were sent to critics but never released (California Raisins & Final Fantasy 2). On a side note…it’s hard to understand why California Raisins was never released?!?!?

You don’t get the insanely rare gold cartridges that go for nutty amounts of money on eBay every once in a blue moon, but who gives a shit? You get every origional Nintendo game! You also get a mint NES to play all these games on.

Granted, at some point your going to realize that this is a huge waste of money and space. You can just put an emulator on a system (like Zack did on his origional Xbox) and have every single game for every system ever made. But how much fun is that? Showing off the collection if you have the bank account and a spare room would be so cool.

For $3,800 it’s yours. Happy bidding!!!

a Nintendo DVD player

Posted in: Gaming, No Comments »

So the gadget Wii might not play DVDs but your old school Nintendo can!!!! A regular NES was gutted and had a $20 DVD player dropped in it. And if that wasn’t cool enough, the guy who did it rigged the controllers to function with the DVD player.

Dpad - Navigation
Start - Power
Select - Eject
A - Selection
B - Main Main Menu

I’d like them to incorporate the old up, down, up, down, right, left, right, left, right Contra code somehow…but for now…this will do!!!
