Transformers Nikes

The love for Nikes (especially custom made ones) have been well documented on this blog. They’re so cool and i wish I could own them all including the newest ones to come out: Transformers Nikes!

I’ll openly admit I’ve never seen the the movies (1st or the 2nd one) so I can’t give an opinion on it but the shoes are dope. What’s so cool about them is that they are designed and decorated like gigantic toy cartons and have that extra little flap thing that allows the box to secure itself to a hook (sorry, I’m not up to date on the packaging lingo). I also love em because they’re retro enough to make you think that you’re going to get a real Transformer but then you just get a pair of shoes that you’d probably never wear because that would just ruin them.

If you’re in the market for a pair of the limited edition Soundwave, Megatron and Bumblebee sneeks you can get them for around $100-120.

Cleatskins

UXB’s commercial for Cleatskins is great. Cleatskins convert old cleats into street shoes which is pretty cool but the commercial is what I like. Granted, the lighting, design and direction plays perfectly into the macho and cliche jock-ads. And the wanna be Nike soundtrack really seals the deal.

But when that stud goes crashing to the floor, nerds everywhere laugh like only a vindictive, wedgied kid who still holds a grudge from high school would.

Another classic is coming back to the sneaker game. They’ve been missing. Kinda hard to find like Waldo. Not anymore.

L.A. Gear is back!!! I have no idea why but I’m so pumped up for this!!! Reebok come back strong with their 80’s sneakers in flashy designs, now L.A. Gear is gonna do the same and bring back the 80’s. They’ve already shown us the new Kid Fireball sneaks so now go check out the new L.A. Gear website thats relaunched. Eventhough a full online catalogue isn’t up yet, they give us a couple looks at some upcoming retro styles.

I call these coming back the circle of life my friends!
